MATH – Basic Admission Requirements And Academic Policies
The Master’s Degree Programmes of the Redeemed Christian Bible College are designed to prepare Christian scholars for in-depth knowledge in specific areas of their interest and calling at the gradu-ate level. As such, any prospective students must have had a solid background and proof of profi-ciency in such areas they want to pursue. This shall be ascertained through presentation of the aca-demic transcript in their previous course of study.
The following are the basic admission requirements for Master’s Degree programmes in RCBC
- B. A. Th. of RCBC or its equivalent from other recognised institutions
- Advanced Diploma in Theology and/or other programmes of RCBC
- First Degree in Christian Religious Studies from any recognised Institution

Master of Arts Degree in Christian Religious Education
Master of Arts Degree in Systematic Theology
Master of Arts Degree in Pastoral Ministry
Master of Arts Degree in Christian Leadership Studies
Master of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies
Master of Arts Degree in Missiology
The programmes run for 4 semesters each. A semester comprises 15 weeks of lectures and 2 weeks of examination.
There is also Field Work in which the students are exposed to practical aspect of their disciplines within the course of study.
PhD – Admission Requirement for PhD Degree Programmes
The aim of these programmes is to deepen students’ study and understanding in specialised areas of academic disciplines, resulting in a major, profitable and original contribution to scholarship.
Candidates must possess a Direct to PhD grade at the Masters Degree level from institutions recognised by the Academic Board of the Redeemed Christian Bible College.
Candidates from institutions recognised by the Academic Board of the Redeemed Christian Bible College with direct to PhD as a matter of policy must do an entrance examination as ap-plied to M.Phil/PhD from the The Redeemed Christian Bible College.
Candidates must possess a document indicating his or her successful conversion of 60 and above pass from an M.Phil/PhD grade of RCBC within a minimum of two semesters before proceeding to PhD Programme.
N.B :- Candidates with M.Phil grades may not be considered for PhD programmes at the Redeemed Christian Bible College. However, any candidate willing to proceed may have to run a remedial course for three semesters and pass with the presentation of an M.Phil Dissertation to qualify for PhD programmes at the Redeemed Christian Bible College.
Also, candidates admitted to any of the specialised programmes may be required to take and pass specified courses at the 700 level and/or below, in addition to prescribed courses at the 800 level if the College deems it necessary for sound foundation for such areas of scholar-ship.

Minimum of three years (6 semesters) and maximum of five years (9 semesters), after an approved Direct to PhD Masters degree.
Minimum of one year (2 semesters) and maximum of two years (3 semesters), after an approved M.Phil/PhD Masters degree.
N.B :- Candidates, after the expiring date of specified duration of the course (i.e., 6 semesters) and two renewals of two years each, may be asked to withdraw from a PhD programme if there is no consider-able progress in the research work.
